Here is a quick guideline to help you figure out what size of dumpster you need. When in doubt, go bigger.

  • How many pickup trucks full do you think you have?
    Use the pickup truck reference listed below each dumpster's description as a guide.
  • Are you in a HOA or have a tight driveway?
    Our dumpsters are HOA friendly and designed with tight locations in mind. They fit into a standard parking spot or short driveways without blocking sidewalks. We still recommend measuring your spot and comparing it to the dumpster dimensions.
  • Kitchen or bath remodel?
    You typically need a 15 or 20-yard dumpster.
  • Yard clean up, tree removal, or move out?
    You typically need a 20 or 30-yard dumpster.
  • Large demolition or construction project?
    You typically need a 20 or 30-yard dumpster.
  • Concrete, dirt or sod removal?
    Must use the lowboy 6-yard dumpster due to the heavy weight of these items.
  • Replacing a roof?
    For most roofing projects, we recommend our 15 or 20-yard dumpsters. These sizes are ideal for residential roof tear offs while staying within safe hauling weight limits. Due to the weight of asphalt shingles, the maximum amount we can haul in a single dumpster is approximately 50 squares (5,000 square feet) of single layer shingles. If the roof has multiple layers, divide 50 by the number of layers to determine the maximum roof size that will fit in one dumpster. For example:
    • 1 layer: Up to 50 squares (5,000 sq ft)
    • 2 layers: Up to 25 squares (2,500 sq ft)
    • 3 layers: Up to 16 squares (1,600 sq ft)
    If the project exceeds these limits, we can provide additional dumpsters or schedule swap outs to keep your project moving efficiently.
